He was born in Arlington to Chris and Lambie Renner, the last of their four children. At Bishop O’Connell High School, he participated in soccer, track, the video production club, the pro-life club and the nap club, which he founded.  He graduated from the University of Mary Washington and is graduated from Mount St. Mary’s Seminary with a Masters of Divinity and a Masters of Moral Theology.  He is currently the parochial vicar of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Fredericksburg.

Dr. Charlotte E. Howell is an Assistant Professor of Film and TV Studies at Boston University. She earned her MA and PhD in media studies from the department of Radio-Television-Film at the University of Texas-Austin. Her areas of specialization include: television studies, media industry studies, genre studies, fan studies, and sports media studies. Dr. Howell was a Television Academy Faculty Fellow in 2017. Her first book, Divine Programming: Negotiating Christianity in American Dramatic Television Production, 1996-2016 was published by Oxford University Press in 2020, and she is currently working on a project analyzing soccer’s position on American television.

Nathaniel Adams is an attorney in the United States who has traveled to over 25 developing countries to pursue various business and personal interests. Nathaniel first traveled to Madagascar as a college student and has returned several times since. He spent over eight months on the island in 2019 researching this book, his first. A cancer immunologist by training, Dr. Christopher Nirschl received his PhD from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Immunology in 2015, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in association with Harvard Medical School. He has been studying the interactions between cancer and the immune system for over a decade, and is also one of the inventors of the anti-TIGIT antibody ASP8374/PTZ-201 which is currently in clinical trials. Currently, Dr. Nirschl is an Immunologist at Werewolf Therapeutics in Massachusetts, where he lives with his wife and two children.

Peter Barber is a professional opera singer, music producer, and bass vocalist, currently training as a Resident Artist at The Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. Over the last five years, he has performed over twenty operatic roles, and competed in numerous international vocal competitions. In January of 2020, Peter made his professional operatic debut with Pacific Opera Project in Los Angeles, while completing his master’s degree in Vocal Arts and Performance from the University of Southern California. This summer, he will be joining the Santa Fe Opera as an Apprentice Singer, one of the top summer programs in the world for up-and-coming opera singers.  

Outside of the opera world, Peter is a music producer, and accomplished bass vocalist. Since the start of the pandemic, he has grown his YouTube following from under 100 subscribers to over 44,000 by making musical covers, as well as in-depth “reaction and analysis” videos, breaking down performances in terms of vocal techniques, arrangements, artistic choices, and overall presentation. Peter also started a group of four bass singers called The Bass Gang, who are in the process of making their second album, May the Bass Be With You, Vol. 2, which will be released throughout the month of May on YouTube and all streaming services.
